Welcome to our “Frequently Asked Questions” page. This is where we answer our customer’s most frequently asked questions. As much as we’d like to answer our customer’s questions on the phone or by e-mail one by one, hopefully we could answer them here on our website as well.
So, let’s get started and start answering some questions!
1. Do you accept provincial clients?
Definitely, but of course there’s an additional fee depending on how far your location is. If it’s a plane ride away, we might need a little financial push to get there.
2. Why don’t you have a Photo package along with your video packages?
We love taking Photos as well, but we’d like to focus more on making your videos as cinematic and as beautiful as ever. Offering two services at once tends to make both outputs look half-baked. We’d like to make our videos taste real good like a well baked ice-cream flavored chocolate cake.
3. How many are you in the team?
Essentially, there are 4 of us in the roster. Myself and three other dudes who love to make videos and rest assured they won’t be intrusive to the ceremonies. We will be like ninjas… without swords or any deadly weapons of course. Our only weapon is our passion to make sure your videos will look as good as possible.
4. Do we have to feed you?
It’s not a requirement but we’d highly appreciate it if you would. Aside from making great videos, our next favorite passion is eating. Take note though that any hungry person tends to perform less than a healthy little boy. So if we get really hungry and we have nothing to eat, our videos may not look as good. But don’t worry, we’ll make sure to bring our own bread crumbs.
5. What is the Vixia HV40 Camera? How come I’ve never heard of this?
The Canon Vixia HV40 Camera is a Full HD capable video camera that is capable of capturing cinematic quality videos. It may not be 3CCD camera but it uses the CMOS Sensor used by Professional Digital SLR Cameras that can capture professional looking Photographs. It all that sounds to technical, let’s just say every frame from the Canon HV40 looks like a professional photograph.
The reason you may not have heard of this is because it was only released for a short period of time since it may seem too expensive for the average consumer. In fact, the HV40 is marketed towards professional videographers and aspiring film makers.
6. Other videographers use a 3CCD Video Camera, why don’t you use a 3CCD Camera?
First off, if we did, our rates would be much, much, higher. Also, we have studied the difference of both types of cameras and we’re much more satisfied with the quality that the Canon Vixia HV40 offers with its CMOS Sensor.
Another reason is that most 3CCD cameras are really big and bulky. Remember when I said we were like ninjas? Ninjas don’t carry really large swords do they?
7. Do you have any preferred style of video?
Not really, but if we’re talking about style, we offer really cinematic, movie-like videos. We are not too fond of the boring, traditional, and bland presentations others may offer. We shoot our videos as if we were like Photographers taking the perfect picture.
8. What do you need during the event coverage?
All we ask is a small table and a little space where we could leave our bags. A seat would also do for our crew member who will be in charge of looking after our equipment.
If it’s possible we would love to have a gate pass for our equipment on the location at least a week before the event so that there would be no problems bringing our equipment to the location.
9. Speaking of equipment, what are these “Glidecams” and “Glidetracks” for anyway?
These are professional video equipment, as long as a meter stick and as wide as a computer CPU. The Glidecam is used for flyby moments as if the camera is passing by dramatically without any shaking. The Glidetrack on the other hand, is used for dolly shots to create that dramatic stable movement. If you need a sample just take a look at our videos.
10. How do I lock a booking with you?
We use a “first pay, first served”. Whoever gets to give us a downpayment first gets to book with us for sure. Verbal agreements are seldom honored because sometimes people tend to back out on the last minute. So, if you’re definitely sure with us, please arrange a downpayment with us to lock the schedule.
11. Speaking of downpayment, how much?
Usually, it’s a 20% downpayment. But of course, it’s negotiable up to 15%.
12. Whenever I see the percent sign, it reminds me of discounts. Do you offer discounts?
Funny you should mention that, we’re going to launch a promo on August 2010. Watch out for it.
13. Let’s talk about the music for the Music Video, who gets to pick that?
You of course, but we may suggest differently especially if you ask us to use Nursery Rhymes for the music. The reason why we strongly urge our customers not to have us use Nursery Rhymes is because with 4 hours worth of footage, we won’t be able to fit all the highlights within one minute of music. Unless of course, David Cook decides to make remakes of famous nursery rhymes. We may be willing to use Nursery Rhymes.
14. I seem to notice you don’t offer On-site editing. Why so?
It’s not that we don’t offer it, it’s because we’re still debating among ourselves within the team on the price for it.
Watch out for that as well.
15. Do you prefer working with certain Photographers?
We don’t have any exclusivity with anyone really. We’d actually like the collaboration with anyone as long as they are professional and very respectful with the rest of the events team. As long as they are not Papparazzi, we’re fine with any Photographer.
16. Are you married? How do you know what the wedding will be like if you haven’t experienced being at the altar?
Nope, I’m still single and available. Although, I believe I’m passionately in love with my work as a videographer. As for knowing what a wedding is like, a large percentage of the people I know have gotten married and I’ve attended a lot of their weddings. I have also been working as a freelance camera man for certain veteran videographers so I know how these events go by, especially the time for eating.
17. How about you, when are you getting married?
Like I said, I’m single and I’m happy. I have no idea when I’m getting married because I don’t I have found the right person yet.
18. I’m single and available, are you interested?
If you’re a client for a wedding coverage, um, isn’t that cheating on your soon to be spouse? If you’re a client for a debut, I think I’m too old for you.
19. Is Jepster your real name? It sounds awkward, can I call you Jeps instead?
It’s my nickname. My real name is very long but I’ll mention it anyway. Perfecto Gregor S. Togle. If you’re wondering how it became Jepster, I’ll give you a discount if you can tell me how I got that nick name.
