Terminator Salvation is here but is there even salvation for this franchise?
One of the few films that sparked my interest in the visual effects industry was Terminator 2: Judgement Day. Just seeing that liquid metal get shot by a shotgun just left me wondering, “how did they do that?”. Also, that chase sequence with the Harley vs. the 10 Wheeler truck? That was a classic. James Cameron was a visual genius and a lot people knew that whatever James Cameron had in store for the next Terminator film was going to be spectacular.

Mobile Suit Gundam has been around for 30 years and still it’s a household name in Japan. What started out as an Anime has become one of Japan’s best selling franchises when it comes to action figures and model kits. Last March, its latest series called “Gundam 00″ ended and it ended very well compared to most Animes and even other Gundam series.
Macross has been one of the biggest Anime franchises and so far, the last time I saw a Macross related Anime was when I was a kid. In fact, that was the first I felt a fever. I didn’t get sick because it was bad (I actually watch anything on TV back then), I just got sick of overwatching, or so I was told.
Videogames based on movies are always known to either be mediocre or turn up really bad. None of them actually turn out to be really good. Some even believe that if the movie is bad, the game it’s based upon will turn up worse. The reasons could be because it was rushed to meet the same date as the film’s release or maybe because not enough thought was put into the game at all. Let’s just say it was “marketing”.
“Design Principles”.
A lot of artists and students who are taking up design majors tend to forget to use these basic principles so much that their designs ended up being cluttered and trying hard to be different. It’s the use of these principles (or breaking them properly) that make designs pleasing to the eye and appealing for the target audience.
I’m not a “Trekkie”.
I slept through most Star Trek movies. In fact, I’m more of a Star Wars fan (mainly due to the Jedis) than a Star Trek fan. One time, I even called Star Trek a rip-off of Star Wars. I only watched Star Trek: Voyager because of Jeri Ryan. I also thought the Star Trek PC game that came out that had rave reviews was also pretty boring.
